The Winter season is now in full swing all evening leagues have now started. Make sure you know when you need to play - team leaders have all the details.
WIBC Summer finals took place on Saturday and Sunday 15th & 16th September. Rob Wilburn won both Singles titles, Lorraine Allen-Collins and Mick Howard won the Pairs and Mike Ruff, Ray Bristowe and Gordon Archibald the Triples.
WIBC Charity Day was held on Sat 22 September. Our Annual Charity Fundraising day had 20 teams competing against each other to raise money for Guildcare. The event was kindly sponsored by Wall Bros of Worthing. We are pleased to say that £850 was raised on the day.
WIBC is now able to take card payments for financial transactions with the club. Card Readers are available in the Office and the bar. We can take all card types with the exception of American Express, the minimum transaction amount is £5.00.
In common with lots of businesses across the UK WIBC is concerned that we do our bit for the environment. From Monday 15th January 2018, we ask that all our members place their plastic drinking water cups in the recycling bins with the blue lids available on the sides of the green, rather than in the litter bins which are emptied into our general refuse. Thank you for your cooperation.
Our club is located in Durrington On Sea, to the west of Worthing at the entrance of Field Place. We have a purpose built premises opened in 1963 and home to men's and ladies sections with a total membership of about 500. Much of the bowling takes place in mixed sessions.
We provide first class facilities for both competitive and social bowling. Internal leagues are played daily and members play friendly matches against other clubs at least twice each week. We also play matches away and for the furthest clubs, free coach travel is provided and member's guests are invited to travel.Opening Hours: Monday to Friday 8am - 10pm
Weekends 8am - 6pm (may vary)Office Hours: Weekdays 8.30am - firstname.lastname@example.org
Our 5 rink air-conditioned green at 38 metres is one of the longest in the south of England, and with a carpet which was replaced in August 2009, we have a perfect playing surface. New and improved LED lighting was installed in June 2018. Internal redecoration also makes this a very pleasant environment.
There is ample seating around the green for viewing and playing members and large glass windows separating the green from social and dining areas enable clear views of the bowling whilst enjoying a meal or glass of wine.
Facilities are in place for disabled bowlers with a ramp entry onto the green and an adapted wheelchair is available to use if required.
Changing rooms are conveniently placed and contain individual bowls lockers which may be rented annually for a small fee.
