Worthing Indoor Bowls Club

Welcome to our website!

Our Winter season draws to a close in April and we are now ready to start you thinking about our Summer Bowls Programme. The Summer season starts on May 7th and we are closed the week before this date to allow work to be done which involves turning the carpet over and other vital maintenance work.

The Winter Competitions and finals all reached their conclusion in April and reports of successes are on the downloads page and pictures on the Gallery Page. Congratulations to all the Winners and Runners Up

We have instigated a second WIBC Charity Day which will be held in April and is set to involve local businesses and has more of a corporate flavour. We will of course run our September Charity event as usual as a curtain raiser for the 2019 Indoor Winter season. Once again we thank Wall Bros for their invaluable support for these events

WIBC is now able to take card payments for financial transactions with the club. Card Readers are available in the Office and the bar. We can take all card types with the exception of American Express, the minimum transaction amount is £5.00.

In common with lots of businesses across the UK WIBC is concerned that we do our bit for the environment. From Monday 15th January 2018, we ask that all our members place their plastic drinking water cups in the recycling bins with the blue lids available on the sides of the green, rather than in the litter bins which are emptied into our general refuse. Thank you for your cooperation.
Welcome to our website. We hope you find the information you are looking for and that you will visit both the website again in future and the club in person to share in the great activity that Indoor Bowls offers.

Our club is located in Durrington On Sea, to the west of Worthing at the entrance of Field Place. We have a purpose built premises opened in 1963 and home to men's and ladies sections with a total membership of about 500. Much of the bowling takes place in mixed sessions.

We provide first class facilities for both competitive and social bowling. Internal leagues are played daily and members play friendly matches against other clubs at least twice each week. We also play matches away and for the furthest clubs, free coach travel is provided and member's guests are invited to travel.

Opening Hours: Monday to Friday 8am - 10pm
Weekends 8am - 6pm (may vary)

Office Hours: Weekdays 8.30am - 11.30am

Our 5 rink air-conditioned green at 38 metres is one of the longest in the south of England, and with a carpet which was replaced in August 2009, we have a perfect playing surface. New and improved LED lighting was installed in June 2018. Internal redecoration also makes this a very pleasant environment.

There is ample seating around the green for viewing and playing members and large glass windows separating the green from social and dining areas enable clear views of the bowling whilst enjoying a meal or glass of wine.

Facilities are in place for disabled bowlers with a ramp entry onto the green and an adapted wheelchair is available to use if required.

Changing rooms are conveniently placed and contain individual bowls lockers which may be rented annually for a small fee.
